Not about my marriage, not about my son.

About a month ago, as part of an accountabilty group, I made a pledge to write weekly, learn more about our finances, and polish/prepare for publication of a series of essays I started long before the pandimic.
The thing is, my marriage is a bit of a trainwreck and my son makes his own choices. To discuss my marriage, I’d have to include the other half andI can’t validate or understand the choices my son makes. His explanations are just test runs to see what the general public believes.
I’m learning about finances, I have appointments with professionals who can teach me how to move forward even though all I know about adulting is that Oprah strongly stated that athletic shoes should not be worn to any gathering unless the gathering was about athletic shoes or they were used to make a statement at the end of a prentation. I simplified the world of business but I’ll let you know.
My latest passion is slippers, my favorite brand is currently offered on some websites[ for up to forty percent below retail value.
The product is cheap and the odds are high, the slippers will get eaten. I do not think my passion for bedtime shoes impacts anything I’m talking about; my love for fluffly slipons is an exception to the rule.
I need to step back from Colin’s pleas for assistance- with plane tickets, dinner reservations, and puppy quadaries.
I need to tell Kate we can’t buy her a car this summer because her dad and I like her more than her brother.
I need to write a piece about marriage and everything above that acknowleges that the whole damn thing makes as much sense as all the times they’ve created buildings and parking lots on top of faults and crevices.
Are there any spaces without flaws or
Should we just make our calculations based on the assumption that mistakes and misclcations should be accounted for?
I am either defeated, resigned, or realistic
But it doesn’t matter. I’m waiting to hear from you.
